Bogota has a Rapid Bus (RB) system (called Transmilenio) as its main mode of mass transportation. The system consists of 9 principal stations (portals), or starting points, for buses that run on 13 main avenues (lines) of the city passing through the stations. Approximately 1.4 million people use the system daily. The system is also supported by an Integrated System of Public Transportation.
